Ashley's Mission
About Ashley
“I am a disruptor. With only 2% of the population achieving a PhD and a mere 0.04% of Native Americans holding that distinction, I don’t fit the conventional mold. People don’t see me and immediately think ‘historian’, ‘fishing guide’, ‘motivational speaker’, ‘environmentalist’, or ‘YouTube angler’. I don’t match the typical image of a successful social media influencer. But in the pursuit of reaching unique audiences, I’ve come to realize that unique inspiration is the key.”
– Ashley Nichole Lewis, a MA in Environmental and Indigenous History, a Ph.D. student of History, and a proud member of the Quinault Indian Nation.
Hook, Line & History is a new take on and old idea. Ashley Nichole Lewis is revolutionizing the conventional fishing show. In each 30-minute episode, Ashley embarks on a subsistence fishing adventure, seamlessly intertwining narratives that bridge the gap between history, sustainability, and our modern lives.
Hook, Line & History will ignite passion in both novice and experienced anglers by sharing time-honored fishing techniques, land-based wisdom, and awe-inspiring outdoor adventures.
